Mantis

This has been one of my first complete photographic projects. It all started last spring, when a great hatching of these wonderful creatures took place. The unmistakable silhouette of these beings led me to try to avoid any distraction, opting for backlight photography and highlighting their figures by playing with the lines provided by the different herbs in the meadow.

It is a photographic series in which composition prevails. The search for lines that contrast or commune with the bodies of these wonderful creatures has been paramount.

Using black and white as the only colors, avoiding any distraction, helps to reinforce the role of the mantises and the composition of each of the photographs.
